SUMMARY:Educating the Irish Child - talk in Richmond Barracks
DESCRIPTION:This talk will examine some of the ways Irish society thought about children and education during the long nineteenth-century. Why were boys and girls educated differently? What was it like to be enrolled in a Dublin school? Mary Hatfield will explore these questions about Irish childhood in the setting of the former Christian Brothers School in Richmond Barracks. \nMary Hatfield is a Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholar at Trinity College Dublin.
