Dublin since 1922: Diary of Ireland’s capital

29 September, 2016 @ 1:10 pm

In Dublin Since 1922 Carey tells the story of Ireland’s capital city since independence. This richly illustrated talk unfolds around hundreds of dates in the city’s history featuring major events, the figures who have shaped the city’s identity and the daily life of its people.  Beginning with the founding of the Irish state – when Dublin had the worst slums in Europe – it ends with the last days of the Celtic Tiger.

Tim Carey is a best-selling historian who has published extensively on Dublin’s history.  He is Heritage Officer with Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council.

No booking is required. All welcome on a first-come, first-seated basis
