Empty Tea Cups: Living without tea in WWII Ireland

In the Second World War Ireland’s national drink, tea, became a scarce and highly sought after commodity. This talk will explore how Irish society reacted to its traumatic absence.
John Porter is a PhD candidate at Trinity College Dublin, funded by the Irish Research Council. His project researches the history of consumer behaviours in Ireland 1920-1960.
