James Connolly’s Green Flag of Ireland and the 1916 garrison flags
28 September, 2016 @ 7:00 pm
As part of the Easter 1916 commemorations the decision was made to conserve the surviving 1916 Dublin garrison flags for display in the National Museum. However during the course of the work a remarkable discovery came to light from Enniskillen. This presentation will outline the different types of flags used by the rebels in 1916 and the work that was undertaken to authenticate the Enniskillen flag together with the conservation process.
