The school and the home: boarding schools in Dublin 1800-1860

This talk will examine what kind of education was on offer and what it was like to be a student at boarding school in the early nineteenth-century. What did students study and why?
Mary Hatfield is a Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholar at Trinity College Dublin. Her work focuses on constructions of middle-class Irish childhood and experiences of childhood during the nineteenth-century.
