The Partition of Ireland took tangible form in 1920 with the introduction and passing of the Government of Ireland Act and the foundation of the structures needed to create a new political entity from scratch

Cormac Moore has an MA in Modern Irish History from University College Dublin and is completing his PhD at DeMontfort University, Leicester. He is Dublin City Council Historian in Residence for Dubin North Central and is author of Birth of the Border: The Impact of Partition in Ireland (2019), The Irish Soccer Split (2015), and The GAA V Douglas Hyde: The Removal of Ireland’s First President as GAA Patron (2012)
