To celebrate Dublin’s Festival of History, we’re asking you to join us on special co-creation tours, to help us shape the guided tour experience at Richmond Barracks. On each co-creation tour, visitors will be invited to give feedback, and will have the opportunity to help us develop the historical tours and the visitor experience.

Visitors can once again experience the atmospheric surrounds of Goldenbridge Garden Cemetery, founded by the “Liberator” Daniel O’Connell almost 200 years ago. Learn about the vaults, the watchmen, the Cuban guard dogs and the body snatchers. And visit the graves of two former Taoisigh as well as the ordinary men, women and children buried here, who’s stories shine a light on 19th Century Irish life and society.

Please note, the tour through the Garden cemetery takes place on uneven terrain and paths and we ask all visitors to wear appropriate sturdy footwear and please follow the guides instructions and directions at all times. This is an outdoor experience so please dress for all weathers. Unfortunately, this tour is not wheelchair accessible. If you have mobility issues, please call Richmond Barracks to discuss your booking on +353 1-5820077
