On 31 July 1806, John Lee (né Fiott, 1783–1866) embarked on a sevenmonth walking tour of England, Wales and Ireland. Lee’s diaries contain fascinating details of everyday life in Ireland in the aftermath of the 1798 and 1803 rebellions.
