IRISH REVOLUTION CLASS 1916-1919 (6 classes)

A free course on 20th-century Irish history focusing on the revolutionary years from 1916–23 when Ireland achieved independence from Britain. Delivered in a lively and accessible manner, topics will include the 1918 general election and the first Dáil, partition, the War of Independence, ending with the story of Martin Savage and the Ashtown Ambush on the centenary of his death.

If you enjoy going to talks on Irish history, this is your chance to delve deeper and learn more. In addition, each week course participants will read and discuss historical documents and memoirs of the time.

Classes run from the 14th November – 19th December. Participants sign up for the block of 6 classes.
