11/09/2020 at 12:00am
This is a series of short films produced by the Education team at Collins Barracks focusing on artefacts that were previously on display in the Proclaiming a Republic – The 1916 Rising, at the National Museum of Ireland – Decorative Arts & History, Collins Barracks. To coincide with the closing of this exhibition, our Guides and members of our team were asked to select an object from the exhibition that resonated with them in some way, and give a short talk about the object.
Brian Crowley, the Collections Curator of Kilmainham Gaol talks about the overcoat worn by Sir Roger Casement when he arrived on Banna Strand on Good Friday, 21st April 1916. Follow the link below to listen to this talk.
This talk is pre-recorded and is available throughout the Festival of History
