In June 1875, a huge whiskey warehouse in Dublin’s Liberties went on fire. The streets ran with burning whiskey and pandemonium ensued. This is the story of a forgotten piece of Dublin history and tells of the fire, the destruction and mayhem it caused…… as well as the unusual method used to it out

Las Fallon, a retired Dublin firefighter, historian, and author has written extensively on the role Dublin Fire Brigade and some individual firefighters played during the Irish Revolution and on the history of the Irish fire service generally. He has written three books on DFB history and taken part in documentaries with RTE, TG4, BBC and others on the 1916 Rising, the Civil War, the Belfast Blitz, and other subjects.
