A weapon fit to kill a king: the crossbow in the Middle Ages

At the Second Lateran Council in 1139, Pope Innocent II banned the use of the crossbow in Christian warfare. This ban was entirely ineffective, and the crossbow would only become more popular over the following centuries. This
talk will chart the rise and eventual decline of one of the Middle Ages’ most iconic weapons. A must for Game of Thrones fans!
