18 Ormond Quay Upper – Tour an 1840s Merchant House
October 12 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Take a guided tour of 18 Ormond Quay Upper, an 1840s merchant house and shop recently saved and restored over a three-year period by Dublin Civic Trust.
The project involved many traditional conservation techniques and materials, including Irish brick ‘wigging’, architectural joinery repair, lime plastering and decorative finishes. The second phase of the project is now ongoing, involving the conservation of a 1750s building on Arran Street East.
The upper floor interiors offer sweeping views of the River Liffey and are decorated in handmade Irish wallpapers typical of the mid-19th century, with traditional mahogany furniture.
Tours timings: 10:00, 12:00, 15:00
Note: The tours will operate on a first come, first served basis.
