Ali at Croke Park (Booked Out)

October 6, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

To mark the 50th anniversary of Muhammad Ali’s fight at Croke Park, the GAA Museum presents an evening of conversation and talks about this memorable sporting occasion.

Dublin Historian in Residence James Curry will speak about Ali’s earlier career and set the scene for the fight in Dublin. Our second speaker is author, journalist and lecturer Dave Hannigan. Dave has written two books about Ali – ‘the Big Fight’, which examines the contest in Dublin and this year’s ‘Muhammad Ali – Fifteen Years in the Wilderness’. He will speak about the fight in Croke Park and the intriguing story about how it happened at all. Tickets are free but must be booked online in advance.

Guests will also have a chance to see Ali’s shorts and glove which are on display in the museum alongside a ticket from the fight.

Tea and coffee will also be served.
