A Celebration of Franco-Irish Heritage and Francophile Community at Alliance Française Dublin
We invite you to join us for a full day of celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of Alliance Française Dublin’s iconic home at 1 Kildare Street, formerly the Kildare Street Club, inaugurated in 1974 by then French Prime Minister Jacques Chirac.
The day will start with a special scavenger hunt for families, where children can explore our historic building, discovering beautifully carved plants and animals hidden within its walls. In the afternoon, enjoy exclusive talks by historians and experts, offering fascinating insights into the rich cultural heritage of our listed building, a symbol of enduring Franco-Irish friendship. These talks will be followed by behind-the-scenes guided tours led by architects, revealing the secrets of this architectural gem.
Coinciding with both Open House and the Dublin Festival of History, this is a rare opportunity to reflect on our shared history, celebrate the vibrant community that has shaped Alliance Française Dublin, and look ahead to its bright future.
