Bram Stoker and the Irishness of Dracula

This talk is by Dennis McIntyre and will be delivered in two parts.
The first part of this discourse gives an account of the life of Bram Stoker from his birth at No. 15 The Crescent Marino, through his Trinity College days, his work as a civil servant in Dublin Castle, to his 27 years at the Lyceum Theatre in London with Victorian actor Henry Irving.
The second part deals with the Irish genesis of the Dracula story including his mother’s cholera stories from Sligo, the suicide graveyard in Ballybough, the mummified bodies in St. Michan’s Church on Church Street, Dublin … and much, much more.
