Usama Gad, Ain Shams University
Dr Gad is a classicist, papyrologist, digital humanist, and the Assistant Professor of Papyrology and Classics at Ain Shams University. He is also a columnist in several Cairo- and London-based newspapers, active twitterist and blogger at Everyday Orientalism and Classics in Arabic. His writings, in English and Arabic, cover a wide range of topics pertaining to Egyptian classical antiquity and modernity.
The lecture will mark the opening of the symposium ‘Fresh Perspectives on the Chester Beatty Biblical Papyri, Papyrology, and Communication in the Ancient World’, which will take a closer look at museum’s papyri collection.
