Drama, Books and Politics in Dublin’s Medieval Core
October 10 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

Dublin Theatre is older than Shaw, Wilde or O’Casey. What about writers who lived and worked in Dublin’s historic core, from Johnathan Swift to Lady Morgan? And what of the Irish stage in the centuries before the Abbey Theatre?
This walking tour explores theatre, literature, music, and performance as well as themes as diverse as bookselling and printing on Castle Street; drama and fatal politics at the Werburgh and Smock Alley Theatres; the old Music Hall and more.
Our route includes Smock Alley, Dublin Castle, Castle Street, Fishamble and Werburgh Street. An eye-opening journey, around Dublin’s medieval core.
This event is presented by Dublin Decoded.
Notes: This is an outdoor walking tour and covers about 1– 2 kms. Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
