Join Dublin City Historian in Residence, Katie Blackwood, for an illustrated talk on the history of Dublin cinemas that takes the audience through the early days of makeshift venues, the golden age of cinema building, and right up to the emergence of the multiplexes of the 1990s.
Incorporating architecture, censorship, queuing, courting and more, this talk tells the story of how cinemas and cinema-going shaped Dubliner’s lives.
Contributions and memories from the audience are very welcome.
