A practical folk dances workshop with Slavcho Begov, to take participants on a music trip and intertwine history and traditional dances.

Today’s political borders on the Balkans are a result of many historical events from not too far past.

We will learn a few folk chain dances that cross the borders.

There will be very brief mentions of some historical events so we can put context to the dances.

We will honour the Irish-Bulgarian connection established by James Bourchier in historical and traditional aspects.

Music lovers will hear about the irregular metres.
