Join Alison Martin for this online talk on Countess Markievicz’s life and her propaganda cartoons in the lead up to and during the Irish civil war from the National Library’s collections.
Alison Martin is a writer and historian from Belfast. Her research focuses on the Irish revolutionary period (1916-1923) and this talk is based on her article ‘Taking aim with her pen: Countess Markievicz’s propaganda cartoons’ which was published in the History Ireland special supplement ‘The Split: From Treaty to Civil War, 1921-23.’
