Art historian Kathryn Milligan discusses the life and work of Estella Solomons.
A graduate of Dublin’s Metropolitan School of Art, Solomons became one of the leading artists of her generation in the Irish capital active within Cumann na mBan in the Irish revolution. From her beautiful illustrations in The Glamour of Dublin (1926) to her portraits of the leading revolutionaries of the day, her work is an important chronicle of Dublin past.
