The residence of the Australian Ambassador to Ireland in Killiney has been owned by the Australian Government since 1965. Since moving to Ireland in 2020, the Australian Ambassador’s partner Pippa McIntosh has been researching the history of the house and uncovered not only a fascinating connection to Harry Clarke, but the extraordinary political lives of friends and previous owners the Rt Hon Laurence Ambrose Waldron, MP for St Stephen’s Green 1904-1910; and Sir Robert Woods, MP for Dublin University 1918-1922.
