The Civil War in Dublin 1922-24

October 5 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

Ballymun Library will host a public lecture by John Dorney on The Civil War in Dublin, 1922-24.

The war began there with the Provisional Government’s assault on the Four Courts on June 28 1922 but low level guerrilla warfare continued there for nine more months until the IRA ceasefire of May 1923.

Political violence in the Irish capital claimed at least 258 lives, left some of Dublin’s finest buildings in ruins and left deep scars of bitterness and division in Irish and Dublin politics.
