The Fight for the Capital: The Civil War in Dublin 1922-24
September 29 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pmFree
Presented by Ballymun Library.
From 1922-23 Dublin was torn apart by civil strife. The city was the crucible of the split in the Republican political and military movement over the Treaty and the city experienced a week of open fighting at the start of the Civil War.
What is less well known is that Dublin also experienced nine more months of urban guerrilla warfare, assassination, executions and arson.
John Dorney tells this story, based on his book, The Civil War in Dublin.
