The Last Land War

October 9 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Myles Dungan is one of Ireland’s best-known and most respected broadcasters on both radio and television for more than two decades. He is the author of a number of popular works including The Stealing of the Irish Crown Jewels, The Great Irish History Book and his latest Land is all that Matters.

Land seizures were a major feature of both the War of Independence and the Irish Civil War. This talk explores 200 years of agrarian conflict from the famine of 1741 to the Land War of 1878–1909, which ended with the transfer of landlord holdings to their tenants.
