Did you know that Dublin had one of the largest slave markets in medieval Europe? Or that archaeologists found a medieval walrus in Temple Bar? Have you ever wondered what sort of jobs medieval Dubliners worked? These are some of the fascinating questions explored during The Medieval Mile, a colourful walking tour exploring Dublin’s Middle Ages.
You will learn about the cooperation, conflict and coexistence between natives and newcomers in medieval Dublin, how an Irish village became a Viking town, as well as how an invitation led to an invasion that would forever change the course of Irish history.
