

The RDS Drawing Schools and Irish Art: A History

The RDS Library & Archives will host this event in the RDS Library. The RDS Drawing Schools were founded in 1749 and would eventually go on to become the National College of Art and Design.
This event will consist of an illustrated talk from the RDS Archivist and Curator that will explore the history of the Drawing Schools and their role in the establishment of art education in Ireland.
The talk will be followed by a tour of some of the artworks in the RDS collections by the RDS Curator and coffee and tea in the library.
Note: Children under 16 cannot attend due to club licensing restrictions.
