1923 – A Defining Year for Germany
October 1, 2023 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Mark Jones in conversation with Jennifer Wellington.
1923 was one of the most remarkable years of modern European history.
In January, France and Belgium militarily occupied Germany’s economic heartland, the Ruhr, triggering a series of crises that almost spiralled out of control.
Hyperinflation plunged millions into poverty and Hitler’s populism ascended to national prominence.
In this event, author Mark Jones will discuss this critical year in European History, with Dr Jennifer Wellington.
