Aspects of the History of Kenure House and Estate

October 5 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

This talk is about the rise and fall of Kenure House and its estate and the trials and tribulations of the families who lived there.

In the mid-17th century the lands of Kenure came into the possession of the Duke of Ormond, passing to Sir Henry Echlin in 1817. It then passed to the Palmers with Col. Palmer selling everything in 1964. The house was demolished in 1978 with only the free-standing Portico remaining as a reminder.

Frank Whearity holds a BA (hons) in Local Studies and an MA in Local History from the National University of Ireland, Maynooth.

Note: Limited spaces, booking essential.
