If we think of Dublin like the cross-section of a great tree, with rings spreading outwards, the area around St. Patrick’s Cathedral and Dublin Castle is the heartwood, the medieval core.

In Dublin: A Writer’s City, author Chris Morash sets out to produce a literary map of the city, area by area, looking at the ways in which knowing the literary heritage of our own neighbourhoods enriches our experience of living in the city.

In this talk, he will look at the ways in which Irish writers over the centuries have imagined the oldest part of our city.
