2022 marks the fiftieth anniversary of the passing of Kathleen Clarke. The first female Lord Mayor of the city, Clarke was a leading figure in Cumann na mBan and a member of the Executive of Sinn Féin during the War of Independence.
Widow of 1916 signatory Thomas J. Clarke, her unique first hand account of the revolutionary period was edited by Helen Litton.
