Liam Lynch: To Declare a Republic

Gerard Shannon is a historian of the Irish revolutionary period and author of the recent biography, ‘Liam Lynch: To Declare a Republic’. His talk outlines the life of Liam Lynch, one of the most important and widely admired IRA leaders of early twentieth century Ireland. 2023 marks the centenary of his death on 10th April 1923, when Lynch was IRA Chief of Staff. His death was the beginning of the end of the military fighting of the Irish Civil War.
There will also be on display an illustrated timeline on the life of Liam Lynch by historian Neil Donovan.
