Perspectives of the American Presidency with U.S. historian Cecelia Hartsell
September 25 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

It has long been recognised that the office of the American presidency has the power to transform the perspective of its occupants.
Regardless of the perspectives of the president when they enter the Oval Office, their experiences in addressing the times changing around them, caused presidents such as Franklin D. Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy, to transform their perspectives regarding civic inclusion for African Americans.
This talk will examine the social and political factors surrounding the momentous decisions they made during their presidencies because of that transformation.
