Queer Femininities of the late 19th and 20th Century Ireland

Mary McAuliffe will lead discussion on this nascent and very vibrant area of study in the histories of Irish sexualities. She’ll be talking about Irish female revolutionaries and same-sex relationships.

Other panellists are Sonja Tiernan, looking at queer, suffrage and activist couple Eva Gore Booth and Esther Roper; Maurice Casey on the queer women and Gavin Arthur circle in 1920s Ireland; and Leanne McCormack discussing lesbian women and Northern Irish politics.
