The story of Killester House and Demesne, c. 1170-1920
October 3 @ 6:30 pm - 7:20 pm

Dublin City Council presents this illustrated talk by Dr Ruth McManus which traces the development of Killester from the Anglo-Norman manor of “Quillestre” to the landed estate of Killester Demesne, associated with the Gleadowe Newcomen family, ending with the burning of the house in May 1920.
Ruth’s research is part of a Dublin Through the Ages project commissioned by Dublin City Council to investigate the historical significance of Killester Demesne and the suburban housing for ex-servicemen built there a century ago.
